EU-WSSSRP Training Workshop

The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola has reaffirmed the total commitment of the present administration of putting various intervention to water schemes of adequate water supply and successful implementation of the project in the state.

This was disclosed when declaring open A-3 day European Union – Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Reform Programme (EU-WSSSRP)Training Workshop on the preparation of Work Plan, Budgeting and Investment Plan, organised for Directors in-charge of budget preparation in the selected MDAs in the Water Supply and Sanitation Sector (WASH), held in Osogbo.

He also said that, the government of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola places a lot of importance on quality water supply to our people, so as to eliminate lots of diseases.

Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola stated further that, the aims and objectives of the training workshop is to get appropriate / necessary scale of quality budget preparation required to execute 2016 budget.

He then charge the participants at the training workshop to be up to the task ahead.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources, Rural Development and Community Affairs, Engr. Adelere Oriolowo noted that the cogent reasons behind the training workshop is to seize the available capacity the state has through the European Union – Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Reform Programme (EU-WSSSRP-) to train officers in-charge of budget and planning to acquire new ways / scientific approach or a world acclaimed budget preparation.

He added that the idea is also to change the traditional ways of budgeting to scientific / participatory approach of budget system and to teach our people on frame work strategy for upcoming budget preparation, so as to set a very realistic budget and work plan, not on paper alone but to have a correlation between the budget and implementation.

While appreciating the Governor of the State of Osun for his giant role played so far and the people for coming, Engr Oriolowo urged the participants to make use of the golden opportunities so as to deliver at the end of the day.
